Limited Edition: Rattle Pegs

Colourful, playful, and full of joyful surprises, in collaboration with Swedish designer Clara von Zweigbergk, MODU launches Rattle Pegs with limited edition patterns.

A Playful Twist

A Cirque du Soleil of colours and patterns, this limited edition is a fun twist on the original MODU Rattle Pegs. The collection is based on the existing MODU colour palette, enriched with playful, graphic prints in the true style of the designer.

Q&A

What sparks your creativity?

"For me, the best ideas usually appear while I’m working. I tend to trust the process and simply start, without overthinking or doing too much research. My design process is very intuitive and often hands-on. I make a lot of mock-ups to touch and feel proportions, colours, shapes, and patterns. I rarely have a clear idea from the beginning — I just start somewhere almost at random and let the process unfold."

Patterns and colour play a big role in your work — where do you draw inspiration from?

"I’m naturally very observant of colours and patterns in my surroundings — in fashion, architecture, nature, and materials. I also have a large collection of coloured paper that inspires me greatly, along with my ever-growing box of beloved colour guides."

What went into designing the limited edition Rattle Pegs?

"Designing for small children meant keeping in mind their attraction to clear graphics, strong contrasts, and bold colours. I also wanted to play with the turning aspect of the peg — when it’s placed into the block, the pattern turns along with it.

The core idea of the collection is movement and interaction: each of the five pegs features a unique pattern and colour, so that as the child twist, spin, and explore, the design shifts, creating a small but engaging moment of play."
